Why resilience?

We asked girls how they feel when they’re not at GFS. Less than half of girls feel like they can always deal with problems, be brave and talk about their feelings.

In fact, 12% of girls feel like they can never talk about their feelings.

We want to support girls to become more resilient so that they can face life’s challenges with confidence and know how to cope when things get tough.

What are we doing about it?

One of the key outcomes we want for our girls is for them to confidently say ‘I can try again when I have a setback’ by the time they leave GFS.

Our groups are designed to give girls the skills, tools and experience to achieve this in whatever way feels right for them.

Over four sessions, girls learned about what resilience means, why it’s important, when we might need it and how we can develop more of it.
