GFS is committed to maintaining your privacy. This privacy policy sets out how GFS uses and protects any information that you give us when you use this website. The types of personal data we collect / process:

We may collect the following information about girls and young women applying to take part in GFS:

  • Date of birth.
  • Contact information including postal address and email address.
  • Details of parents/carers and any emergency contact information.
  • Details of allergies, medical or access requirements that should be taken into consideration when planning safe and accessible activities.
  • Details of ethnicity, racial origin, disability and religion.
  • Demographic information.
  • Photo consent.
  • NEET status.
  • How the girl/young woman travels to and from GFS.

We may collect the following information to support the volunteer application process:

  • Date of birth.
  • Contact information including postal address and email address.
  • Education and Training
  • Whether a DBS is held.
  • Details of ethnicity, racial origin, disability and religion.
  • Demographic information.
  • Photo consent,


We may collect the following information about our Members and donors:

  • Company name.
  • Contact information including postal address and email address.
  • Reason for donation/membership application.
  • Whether or not you are a UK taxpayer (GiftAid).
  • Payment method.
  • Payment amount.

When you supply this information to us, we are legally obliged by the Data Protection Act  2018 and the UK GDPR to ensure that we only use this information for the purpose for which it was requested and to ensure that it is kept securely.

How we use your information
GFS needs this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.
  • If permission has been given, we may periodically send emails about issues, our services, campaigns or other information for which you have subscribed to.
  • To comply with our safeguarding obligations.

Where we store your personal data
All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers. Any payment transactions will be encrypted. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

Credit card details
GFS understands the natural concerns you may have about entering sensitive personal information or credit card details. We would therefore like to assure you that this information is stored securely on a remote server and only aspects required for online transactional purposes are held online.

The personal information that is required for our accounts is kept securely, in accordance with our internal security policy, and only for as long as required by law.

All credit card details are taken via a secure connection and NOT stored on this web server.

Any person found to be using credit cards fraudulently on this website will be prosecuted.
