We are inviting all GFS girls and young women to submit their design for the official GFS Happy New Year Card.
The winner will see their credited design on the cover of the card, which will be sent out to all our volunteers, Townsend Network and partners to celebrate the end of 2023 and the start of 2024. The winner will also receive a £20 Amazon voucher and two runners-up will receive a £10 Amazon Voucher each.
Winners will be announced in mid-December on our channels, and via email to the Group Coordinator or Group Leader of winners’ and runners’ up’s groups.
The design brief
The aim of the cards is to wish everyone that plays a role in GFS an amazing start to 2024 and look forward to what the new year will hold for us together. How you do this is totally up to you!
There are just a few rules we’d like you to follow:
- Designs can be hand drawn, painted, digitally produced (using a drawing app) or designed however you like. However, it must be flat (not pop-up) so it can be scanned and sent to print.
- We’re particularly keen to see designs that are eye-catching and original. It can be portrait or landscape.
- Your design must be inclusive and inoffensive (although being a bit cheeky/funny is fine).
- We recommend creating something that’s A4 as a maximum and A6 as a minimum in size as the printed design will be adjusted to fit an A6 card (15cm x 10.5cm).
How to enter
The competition is open to any current GFS girl or young woman.
To submit designs, you can mail the girls’ original artwork to Liv for scanning via the address listed below. But Group Coordinators and Group Leaders are also welcome to scan the girls’ artwork themselves to send to us via email.
If posted, designs must be sent by 8 December. If scanned and emailed, designs must be sent by 11 December. All submitted designs must include the artist’s name, age and GFS group.

We highly recommend scanning whenever possible, to no girls’ artwork is excluded due to image quality.
But, if taking photos are your only option for participation, please try to do so in good light, and at as straight and flat an angle as possible. This will ensure that we are able to use the image we receive.
