At GFS, we believe girls are allowed to be themselves and proud of who they are. But gender stereotypes and biases are holding them back. So, we need your help to shout that girls ARE allowed to be who they are.
Join the #GirlsAllowed campaign this International Day of the Girl and make a difference for today’s girls and tomorrow’s women.
Girls as young as six tell us they can’t be themselves.
This holds them back from living life to the fullest, and studies show that by the time girls are 11, they will have experienced a huge drop in confidence, self-esteem and general wellbeing.
If effectively supported during their formative years, girls have the potential to change the world – both as the empowered girls of today and as tomorrow’s workers, entrepreneurs, role models, family heads, and leaders.
If you believe girls’ are allowed to be themselves and proud of who they are, join us on International Day of the Girl to shout it from the rooftops. We want you to share your stories of girlhood and words of wisdom, so we can pass them on to GFS girls.
What words of wisdom did your past self need to hear?
We can’t give you a time machine to go back and talk to the girl you once were, but we can give you a place to write down your thoughts and share important advice with girls of today.
Just visit our wall, write, record and draw your thoughts, and we’ll write down your comments inside a little heart, giving each group a jar filled with your thoughtful stories and advice.
Once you’re done, be sure to share it on your social media accounts, so your friends and family can do the same! This way we can share as many experiences of girlhood as possible, giving each and every GFS girl the chance to see herself in your words.
Together we can support today’s girls to dream bigger and reach farther than we ever thought we could as girls.
And don’t forget to sign up to our mailing list to hear more about this campaign and others!
The Girls Can Run Anything Challenge is open
The Girls Can Run Anything challenge is part of our #GirlsAllowed campaign.
This campaign celebrates every girl for who she is and supports our mission to give every girl the skills and confidence to do and be anything she chooses.
On top of that, you’ll get a free t-shirt!
We invite not just women, but all genders, and all ages, to join with us to create a better future for girls. Not a runner? How about walking, wheelchair push, or cycling?
Corporates can get involved too by asking for their own organisational Girls Can Run Anything page. Get in touch with email@example.com to find out more.
