GFS Chester-le-Street is reopen for face-to-face sessions, with social distancing measures and full COVID precautions in place.
Welcome to GFS Chester-le-Street
GFS Chester-le-Street offers weekly sessions and a space for girls and young women to meet new friends in a relaxed, girls-only environment. We host a range of fun activities including crafts and life skills, games and trips out. In the Autumn term we have lots planned, including:
- lots of themed crafts
- a Festival of the Girl celebration week
- a trip to the The HUB in Barnard Castle
- mindfulness and confidence building sessions
- we’ll also be choosing and working with a charity close to the girls’ hearts
Our programme of activities are fun, but ultimately designed to develop self confidence, life skills and resilience through being part of a supportive, non-judgmental group of girls and young women. We want every girl at GFS to feel valued and proud of who she is when she is at GFS. You can find out a bit more about our programme and how we aim to help girls, here.

GFS is a registered charity, and does not operate to make a profit. Weekly session fees, or ‘subs’ help to pay for costs such as insurance, venue hire and resources. Subs are paid weekly to ensure you don’t pay for sessions that your child doesn’t attend.
£3 per week
GFS is an inclusive organisation and we welcome any girl or young woman that would like to join. The cost of sessions should not be a barrier to attendance, and GFS is happy to accommodate a break from session fees where helpful. If this applies to you, please let us know when you complete the sign up form.
If you are already attending a group, you can let your Group Leader know, either in person or by email or text. You can also contact GFS directly on firstname.lastname@example.org
