GFS Mill Hill: Celebrating Sporting Success

Lucy Langhorn, aged 12, has just been selected for the U13 Lancashire Academy Centre of Excellence for Netball. Lucy, who has been a member of GFS since she was born, was first introduced to netball during her GFS Mill Hill group sessions, and ever since, her love of netball has continued to grow.

Now, Lucy plays netball both at school and externally for West Pennine. On 9th September 2018 she attended the Leeds Rhino Netball trials, where she was chosen out of 80 candidates to be part of the Leeds Rhinos U13 squad. On Sunday 14th October, Lucy attended the Lancashire trials, and out of 105 competitors, Lucy was selected to be part of the Lancashire Academy Centre of Excellence. LACE has a history of producing regional, national and Super League athletes, including recent England captain Sara Bayman and current England players Natalie Haythorntwhaite and Eleanor Cardwell.

At GFS, Lucy is an integral part of her group, where she has made life-long friends and continues to become a confident young woman, with a strong work ethic and team-building skills. Everyone at GFS is incredibly proud of her achievement, and congratulates her on this incredible success.
