By encouraging creativity and freedom expression, girls are empowered to share their ideas, reflect on how this may relate to their own lives and support the other girls in the group.

Our sessions

Every week, sessions have fun activities, including four sessions per term that are influenced what the girls say is most important to them.

We do loads of different things at our sessions, but here are some examples of the fun activities and special sessions we did last school year:

  • What we have done in the last school year;
  • Went to see ‘Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World – The Musical’ with girls from GFS Anfield
  • Created the tallest towers in our team challenges
  • Went to a pottery painting session and decorated our own pieces
  • Learned about key events such as Windrush Day
  • Created our wall of change, outlining what we would like to achieve in the future.
  • Decorated and filled our ‘Hopes and Dreams’ boxes

The games, crafts and activities at GFS Aigburth are fun and age appropriate ways to teach girls about themselves and others too.

  • Team challenges teach us to work together
  • Learning about incredible women who can inspire us
  • Trips that help us learn independence
  • Just having loads of laughs and fun without any worries

If you’re curious to know more about what happens at sessions, and how they helps girls try new things and build confidence you can find out more here.

All girls welcome

Everyone is welcome at GFS Aigburth and being kind to one another is at the heart of our group – we all benefit so much from the friends we make here.

This group is not focused on formal achievement. There are no certificates, badges or levels to achieve. GFS is all about each girl growing as an individual and being proud of who she is.

If your daughter has an additional needs, we will always seek to accommodate them at GFS.

Just let us know about them on the sign up form, and our volunteers will discuss them with you when they get in touch.

We are currently able to accept new girls!

If you’d like your child to come along and see what GFS is all about, just sign up on the registration form below and one of our volunteers will get in touch to discuss attendance as soon as possible.

As parents leave girls at the group, it is essential to register and confirm attendance with the Group Leader before attending. Sign up is free, and no commitment is required if you decide GFS isn’t for you.

If you have any questions about the group, venue and session accessibility, please contact us on aigburth@girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk and one of our volunteers will get back to you as soon as possible.

Or, join our team of GFS Aigburth volunteers! Volunteers are essential to running our group and we can’t do it without them. Our team say volunteering here is great fun, fulfilling and makes a real difference to the girls’ lives.
