Our first ever New Years Card competition

We are inviting all GFS girls and young women aged 5-16 to submit their design for the official GFS Happy New Year Card.

The winner will see their credited design printed on the cover of the card, which will be sent out to all our volunteers, Townsend Network and partners. The winner will also receive a £20 Amazon voucher and two runners-up will receive a £10 Amazon Voucher each.

The design brief

The aim of the cards is to wish everyone that plays a role in GFS an amazing start to 2023, and look forward to what the new year will hold for us together.. How you do this is totally up to you!

There are just a few rules we’d like you to follow:

• Designs can be hand drawn, painted, digitally produced (using a drawing app) or designed however you like. However, it must be flat (not pop-up) so it can be scanned and sent to print.
• We’re particularly keen to see designs that are eye-catching and original. It can be portrait or landscape.
• Your design must be inclusive and inoffensive (although being a bit cheeky/funny is fine).
• We recommend creating something that’s A4 as a maximum and A6 as a minimum in size as the printed design will be adjusted to fit an A6 card (15cm x 10.5cm).

How to enter

The competition is open to any current GFS girl aged 5-16.

Designs must be received by 8 December and must include the artist’s name, age and GFS group in the email. Entries can be submitted by:

Emailing a high quality scan to linsey@girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk

Email photographs to linsey@girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk– if you’re taking a photograph, place try to do so in good light, and at as straight an angle as possible. This will ensure that we are able to use the image we receive.

If you’re not posting it to us, make sure to keep your artwork – we may need to ask the winner to send their original design to us in the post.
