GFS Lambton Street is a brand-new branch just opened in April 2017 for girls aged 13 and over.
Based in Lambton Street Community Centre in Sunderland, meetings occur every Thursday evening and are carried out in a safe, single-gender space led by trained and rigorously checked GFS volunteers.
Activities include crafts, cooking, music, games and trips, and are designed to help girls develop in their confidence, resilience and well-being. Girls are also encouraged to learn new skills and support one another in a non-judgmental environment. The space itself offers room to chill out, socialise, have fun and get advice about issues such as exam stress, relationships and the transition into young womanhood.
