Girls Friendly Society empower and equip disadvantaged girls to be their best selves and to thrive. Join in the GFS end of school-year celebration of friendship throughout July.
In 2023 we asked girls about the problems they face, and one of the most frequent answers was coping with friendship issues. So we made the 23/24 Girls Friendly Society programme all about relationships, and have helped girls develop skills to grow mutual friendships, and in navigating the tricky ones.
As we approach the end of our focus on friendship the girls are celebrating friendships and you are invited to join in too.
Be a GFS friend
Ahead of International Day of Friendship at the end of July share just one small act of friendship that has meant a lot to you.
We will share this board with the families of GFS girls to prompt discussion about all this year’s activities about building relationships. Families can add their own stories to the board and will be able to reflect on how as we grow older our friendships develop and change.
Log your volunteering time
The time you have spent on this activity is volunteering for Girls Friendly Society. You have taken action that supports the goals of the charity to empower and equip girls and women to thrive. If your organisation tracks and match donates volunteering time then please log a donation to help girls in the most disadvantaged areas to thrive.
Donate to Girls Friendly Society
Many employers match charity donations through platforms such as Your Cause and Benevity. A gift of £25 when doubled could provide a session for a girl in which she is inspired to believe she can achieve her dreams.
