Every term, GFS picks a big awareness day to celebrate with our girls.
The day could be designed to teach them something, celebrate themselves or just have fun.
For Summer Term, we’ve celebrated International Friendship Day!
Friendship is a core part of what we do and who we are – it’s even part of our name.
We’ve even spent the last few terms focussing on programme activities designed to help girls navigate friendships.
Here’s an example of what our girls got up to in celebration of friendship:
At GFS St Paul’s, Friendship Day coincided with one girl’s birthday and the school play too – a rather festive time all around!
Some girls even had face painting done by their teacher to be ready for the play later that evening, adding to the festive atmosphere.
For the celebration itself, the girls chose a “Stitch” themed party. We had their favourite snacks – popcorn and crisps, plus birthday cake for the birthday girl.
We had glow sticks and made friendship bracelets from clay beads and loom bands. The girls were even given a goody bag with bubbles, Slinky’s and fidgets, plus lots of Stitch colouring pages and Stitch stickers.
Happy International Friendship Day!
