Welcome to our new Chair Amundeep Dhanoa (she/her)

After serving GFS as a trustee and chair, Leanne Massey steps down in September to hand over to our new chair, Amundeep. We are so grateful to Leanne for all she has done to take us into a new chapter that has been about good governance and becoming more girl focussed.

The team is in a strong place supported by an incredible governance team of dedicate talented and ambitious professionals.

This is a wonderful opportunity to support the charity to deliver an ambitious new strategy during an exciting period of evolution.

-Leanne

Amundeep joins us in the year before we celebrate 150 years of GFS – an important landmark, when we hope to raise the profile of the organisation and work in partnership with others to address the need we know exists.

She has ten-plus years’ experience of leading the People and Culture teams in high-growth, mission driven start-ups and scale-ups. She is passionate about people and developing inclusive, happy and high performing teams.

She has been a school governor and vice chair of governors at local primary school for five years.

I’m delighted to be joining the board and supporting GFS in achieving its mission of enabling girls to be themselves and be unstoppable!

The work GFS does to support girls to develop their self-esteem, confidence, emotional wellbeing and resilience from a young age is incredibly important. As a girl, I would really have benefited from the programmes offered.

I’m looking forward to working with Laura and the team to develop a strategy for the next five years to get GFS to becoming self-sustained and helping even more girls and young women to reach their potential.

-Amundeep

We’re excited to start our journey with Amundeep, and are particularly happy to welcome her to GFS during the run-up to one of our most important exciting times of the year – International Day of the Girl!

We would once again like to thank Leanne for three years of dedication to achieving so much positive change for GFS. She hands over her position as Chair at the next Board meeting on the 16th September.

Congratulations Amundeep and welcome to GFS. It is a really exciting and challenging time as GFS moves into its 150th year. I look forward to meeting you and working with the Board, Laura and all the team, to forward the vision and success of GFS over the next five years.

Thank you Leanne for your strong, positive and caring leadership during your time as Chair of the Board. You have worked really hard to strengthen the position of GFS.
