About GFS Cradley Heath

GFS Cradley Heath will offers weekly sessions providing a space for girls and young women to meet new friends in a relaxed, girls-only environment. It will host a range of fun activities including crafts and life skills, games and trips out to help develop confidence and self-esteem. It will also provide advice and workshops on a variety of topics for our older groups.

Volunteering with GFS Cradley Heath is an amazing chance to give back to your community by running fun and interesting sessions with girls every week.

Being a GFS leader means having the opportunity to enable young women and girls to have a place of activity they can call their own. Friendships are formed between girls, their families and the leaders which can last the rest of their lives. It gives a sense of satisfaction to see girls blossom and grow in confidence and gives them a sense of self-worth.

Being a GFS Group Leader

Being a Group Leader is a great opportunity for women who want to use their vision and leadership skills to make a difference. As well as interacting with girls at weekly sessions, the role involves taking a lead on planning the group’s activities and keeping the everything running smoothly.

This hugely rewarding role requires around five hours of time each week and is particularly suited to someone who can commit at least one year to volunteering. There is also the opportunity to share the Group Leader role and form a co-leadership team.

Being a GFS Activity Leader

Being an Activity Leader is a hands on role, helping the group leader deliver fun and inspiring activities, as well as helping with group planning, admin and social media. You’ll be a role model for the girls and young women in your group and get the chance to help build their confidence.

This role requires around three hours of time each week and at least nine months commitment.
