Many organisations are realising the importance that their customers see in have a positive social impact. If you’re looking to create a corporate charity partnership with a focus on gender equality, GFS could be a great fit.
There are many benefits of being seen as an employer with a commitment to gender equality. Businesses that can demonstrate this are among the first choices for the best women candidates in the workforce, resulting in a stronger, more progressive organisation.
Harvard Business Review that found 64% of consumers say that sharing the same values with a brand is the primary reason they have a relationship in the first place.
There are many ways that GFS can work with corporate or business supporters, and every partnership will be unique to your organisation’s priorities and specialisms. But, to get the ball rolling, here are some ways that we have worked with partners in the past.
Charity of the year/staff fundraising
Whether it’s a team challenge, a cake sale, a raffle or an event, raising funds together as a team can be great fun and really rewarding.
Working together to fundraise, not only supports our cause, but can also be a way of bringing your staff together despite working from home, creating a buzz or encouraging healthy competition between teams. If you’d like to hold a fundraiser at your place of work please email fundraising@girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk.
Celebrate International Awareness days with us
Many companies are choosing creative collaborations with girls and women’s organisation’s to celebrate important awareness days such as International Women’s Day and International Day of the Girl.
We are looking for organisations and businesses who are committed to inspiring the next generation of women workers, business owners and entrepreneurs.
Cover a delivery costs for a year
It costs us roughly £13,000 per group to run for 12 months. This includes important equipment, staff support, volunteer recruitment, marketing, hall rent, trips and more. If your organisation is interested in sponsoring a group, get in touch on fundraising@girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk to discuss what we can offer in return.
Despite the cost of running groups, it’s important to us that they remain accessible and we never turn away families who can’t afford the fees. For £385 your company can cover the cost of a GFS girl for one year.
Volunteer opportunities for women staff
With GFS, you’ll have opportunities to take a lead and inspire the girls and young women to be the best they can be. Everyone has something to offer GFS, and we want to bring together women from all walks of life to make great volunteer teams and give our girls different perspectives on life.
So, whether you’re motivated by skill or passion, life experience or a drive to make things better for girls and young women, you will be welcome at GFS. Click here to find out more.
Corporate volunteering
The nature of the GFS model makes it difficult for us to offer one-off or mass corporate volunteering opportunities at our groups. Our groups rely on the stability provided by regular volunteers, and the relationships they build with the girls and young women who attend them.
We recognise that many organisations want to create opportunities for their staff to give back. For those who would like to volunteer in groups, we ask for a minimum of 10 months commitment as our groups run from September to mid-July every year.
We also offer a content creator volunteer role for those looking for shorter term, more ad hoc volunteering opportunities. This role does not have direct interaction with our girls and groups but it’s an opportunity to help create fun, interactive activities for our girls.
Visit our corporate volunteering page for more information.

When working with corporate partners, flexibility is key to our approach. If you’re interested in working with us in a way that is different to the areas outlined above, we’d still love to hear from you.
