GFS Worksop is reopen for face-to-face sessions, with social distancing measures and full COVID precautions in place.

Welcome to GFS Worksop

We are a fun weekly group for girls and young women to meet new friends in a relaxed, girls-only environment. We host a range of fun activities including crafts and life skills, games and trips out to help develop confidence and self-esteem. We also provide advice and workshops on a variety of topics for our older groups.

The group is run by an amazing team of trained volunteers who run different activities with us every week. The group aims to be a space where all girls can feel safe to try new things and feel proud of who they are.

We do loads of different things at our sessions, and there’s more about the GFS programme and how it helps girls try new things and build confidence here, but here are some examples:

    • Team challenges so we can learn to work together
    • Learning about incredible women who can inspire us
    • Trips that help us learn independence
    • Games and sports to get us active
    • Just having loads of laughs and fun without any worries

Everyone is welcome at GFS Worksop and being kind to one another is at the heart of our group – we all benefit so much from the friends we make here. If you’d like your child to come along and see what GFS is all about, just fill out the registration form and one of our volunteers will get in touch with you right away.

If you have any questions about the group, our post-COVID return, or anything else, please feel free to contact us on worksop@girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk

Parents and carers of active members of the group are also welcome to join us on Facebook

Weekly Fee

GFS is a registered charity, and does not operate to make a profit. Weekly session fees, or ‘subs’ help to pay for costs such as insurance, venue hire and resources. Subs are paid weekly to ensure you don’t pay for sessions that your child doesn’t attend.

£1.50 per week

GFS is an inclusive organisation and we welcome any girl or young woman that would like to join. The cost of sessions should not be a barrier to attendance, and GFS is happy to accommodate a break from session fees where helpful. If this applies to you, please let us know when you complete the sign up form.

If you are already attending a group, you can let your Group Leader know, either in person or by email or text. You can also contact GFS directly on info@girlsfriendlysociety.org.uk
