Celebrating our volunteers and new trustee announced at AGM

Thank you to all our members and volunteers who attended our Volunteer and AGM day on Saturday 18th March in Birmingham.

The first part of the day saw delegates discuss everything about being a GFS volunteer – including the positives as well as the challenges. Ideas for the development of GFS’ activities programme were revealed and volunteers were able to give feedback on changes and ideas for future developments and volunteer support.

The AGM, which took place later on in the afternoon, contained a summary of GFS’ financial accounts and an update from GFS Chair Iana Vidal.

Members then voted to elect a new (internal) trustee. We’re now pleased to welcome Poppy Winks to the GFS Board.

We were honoured to have guest speaker Natasha Devon (Body Gossip, The Self-Esteem Team) who gave an inspiring talk about the mental health of young people. Natasha also kindly handed out volunteering certificates to all our volunteers in attendance.

A special thank you to Kiss Me Cupcakes: Made With Love in Birmingham who created our wonderful GFS logo cupcakes.
