Group fall

posted in: Relationships, Group Challenge | 0

Duration:

15 minutes

Estimated Cost:

£0

Focus

The aim of this activity is to build trust.

Preparation

None.

Instructions

1.

Ask the girls to form a circle fairly close together but with enough space to move quickly.

2.

Now ask for a volunteer. Make sure that the first volunteer is not someone unpopular in the group at that time or who is reserved and likely to feel uncomfortable.

3.

Once you have a volunteer invite them to move into the middle of the circle and ask them to close their eyes.

4.

Explain that the idea of the game is to highlight the need for trust within the group.

5.

Ask the girl in the middle to ‘fall’, still with her eyes closed. As a group everyone reaches out to catch her.

6.

Review the activity after a few girls have had a turn in the middle. Think about: How does it feel to place your trust in your friends? How does it feel to be responsible for the safety of someone else? Continue the activity until everybody has experienced both roles.

Resources

Soft floor or rug to land on.
